Designed with the beginner in mind, the USS Albacore kit is simple to assemble, easy to operate, and  inexpensive. The kit includes: hull, sail, and control surfaces, easy access pressure hull, complete drive  system, complete ballast system, in fact everything needed to get you in the water except speed control,  battery (6 cell 7.2 volt pack), and radio (min. three channels required). The ballast system is pump  operated and consists of a high volume, low drain reversible pump. Completely submerged operation  requires only moderate forward speed.(Length - 40 "  Beam - 5 3/8")

"X" Tail Conversion Kit

 One of the many innovations the US Navy tested on the USS Albacore was an "X" tail configuration  (Phase 3) which resulted in substantially enhanced submerged handling characteristics. The model  Albacore acts very much the same way. Tests show that an Albacore with the "X" tail conversion kit  turns approximately 25% "tighter" than the standard cruciform configuration (Phase 2).
 The "X" tail conversion kit includes 4 control surfaces and the microprocessor controlled X Mix  electronic mixer. Also included are detailed instructions for modifying the kit supplied tail cone.
